Treo 755p & syncing contacts
I recently received a (Verizon) Palm Treo 755p from my company. We set it up to access e-mail from my employer's corporate server. I had to utilize Versamail since using Wireless Sync meant my laptop would have had to have remained on at all times to receive mail, which of course is not feasible. What I am finding out now is that if my company uses an Exchange Server (EAS) to access e-mail (which they do), then I cannot sync my contacts & calendar using the desktop sync cable. I found this out last night talking with one of Palm's tech support folks & sure enough she directed me to the section on their web-site that verifies that fact. This seems absolutely ridiculous to me! This means that if I want to not only see (& utilize) my contacts on my Treo handheld, but also on my desktop computer, then I have to manually enter those contacts on both. The Tech support person told me if I wanted to be able to hard-sync my contacts using the sync cable, then I would have to eliminate accessing e-mail from the handheld which I'm not going to do. Does anyone know if there is a work-around to this? This seems to be a major oversight on Palm's part & I still just cannot believe or understand why they would not have some sort of work-around for this...
